Job Description

This role is accountable for auditing Mid Market Quotes, Renewals, Amendments and Implementations for their adherence to established protocols both internal and external to Manulife. While remaining independent, the Audit function provides value by liaising and consulting with management to identify risks and improve the management controls of various risks. This role will also have accountability for some Small Business and Corporate Account audits when needed.

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Complete a New Business Quote, Renewal, & Implementation Audits for Mid Market.

  • Create audit summaries and participate in the analysis of audit results to identify root cause issues

  • Analyze audit results and summarize findings on the assessment of performance, knowledge gaps, top issues to resolve, etc. to leaders

  • Provide feedback to staff on audit results to contribute to their development, make recommendations and resolve knowledge/ learning gaps.

  • Make practical and value-added recommendations to improve process management practices and efficiency.

  • Follow up on open audit issues or identified gaps until resolved

  • Utilize technology to make recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit process

Job Requirement:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Underwriting experience across segments

  • Expert Knowledge of the Mid Market Renewal, Amendment and Quote processes.

  • Some Knowledge of Implementation processes

  • Some knowledge of Small Business quote and exception process

  • Some Knowledge of Corporate accounts

  • Professional risk management expertise with demonstrated work related Underwriting experience within Group Benefits.

  • Demonstrated understanding of business processes and their risk implications, able to analyze situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make value-added and practical recommendations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of audit methodologies, control frameworks and risk management practices.

  • Extensive and expert knowledge of all Group Benefit Products and systems

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate to all staff levels ideas and recommendations

  • Bilingualism, French and English, is preferred.

  • Strong customer focus and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to develop and carry out audit programs to deliver quality results on time

  • Results oriented; ability to balance multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to details

  • Strong organizational skills who is able to multi-task

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

CAN, Ontario - Full Time Remote

Salary range is expected to be between

$56,400.00 CAD - $94,000.00 CAD
