The Network Software and Automation team is seeking an adaptable and motivated senior Network Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Network Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting outstanding network automation solutions to improve efficiency and reliability within our infrastructure. Your expertise in network automation tools and programming languages will be applied to optimize network operations through automation. You excel at problem-solving, debugging, architecting, and implementing solutions to challenging technical issues. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of sophisticated automation scripts and workflows to simplify network provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring tasks.

  • Architect and implement intelligent automation solutions to seamlessly integrate network infrastructure with diverse platforms and services, driving operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with various teams to define strategic automation initiatives aligned with business objectives.

  • Provide expert-level support in diagnosing and resolving intricate issues related to network automation workflows and scripts.

  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing existing automation processes and documenting workflows comprehensively.

  • Own the design and creation of intuitive network automation solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security alignment.

  • Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends, proactively driving innovation within the team.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field OR equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking with a strong focus on network automation.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript for network automation.

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Nornir, or Ansible.

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF).

  • Experience with network virtualization, SDN/NFV, and cloud networking technologies.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating network devices with third-party systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with a proactive approach.

  • Proven track record of effectively delivering automation projects in a production environment.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with low-code solutions such as Gluware, Itential, Ansible Tower, NetBrain, or similar.

  • Knowledge of cloud network provider offerings such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Understanding of DevOps practices and principles for CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Certifications such as CCNP, DevNet, or equivalent are a plus.
