WSP Tunnel Systems provides a total end-to-end tunnel asset capability; transforming the integration of tunnel systems design and delivery, led by safety and operations.

Within our growing Tunnel Systems team, we have exciting opportunities for a Tunnel Systems Design Manager and Systems Specialist Associate Engineers who will report to the Tunnel Systems Capability Lead. Using your technical knowledge (M&E, tunnel operations, safety) and design or project management experience you will draw on our diverse range of technical experts to deliver prestigious new build and refurbishment tunnel systems projects across many industry sectors including road, rail and utilities. You will be influential in the delivery of engineering / infrastructure / construction projects to an ever-increasing client base.

The successful candidates will work collaboratively with other internal specialist departments in the UK and overseas and external project partners to lead and assist in project delivery, you may also be involved in supporting the strategic development of our Tunnel System’s capability as we develop our larger and wider tunnel systems team.

• A proven technical capability of the design, operation or delivery of tunnel systems including electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, communications, and control systems along with a strong understanding of tunnel operational procedures and practices, or,

• Design or Project Integration Management skills with the desire to grow, manage and direct a diverse team from across the WSP business to deliver against project, operational and commercial targets

• Chartered status (or an demonstrable membership/progression) through progression) through an appropriate institution – ICE, IMechE, IET, CIBSE or similar

• A proven track record of working collaboratively with both internal and external partners

• A willingness to travel and/or work in various locations across the UK and potentially some short-term international travel.
