The role of the Deal Desk Analyst is to act as a trusted advisor to the sales and technical delivery team(s), working as the primary point of contact amongst various business areas , and constructing how non-standard deals should work. The Deal Desk Analyst typically makes sure that deals are correctly constructed, guides teams to best pricing to maximize revenue, and addressing the complex details involved in a non-standard contract process to make certain the deal is completed promptly.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to construct and maintain a master view of deal pipeline information

  • Collect, compile and validate pipeline information received from internal stakeholders

  • Provide periodic updates to internal teams for visibility on upcoming service activation requests

  • Analyse pipeline information at regular intervals

  • Document and provide analysis to relevant managers to derive resource planning for supported technology

  • Identify demand of new technologies from analysis

  • Work with internal stakeholders to do a preliminary of resource sizing for new technologies

  • Review effort sizing with internal teams before submitting to internal Commercial team for further analysis of deal viability

  • Serve as an expert in Deal Desk activities, which impact quota setting, bookings attainment, and deal structuring

  • Serve as the trusted advisor to the Sales team on deal structure and quoting, advises the team on alternative contract options, and/or value propositioning to help drive deal closure

  • Provide general assistance and advice on common deal questions and Quote to Cash process questions

  • Collaborate with impacted parties to identify acceptable options to facilitate deal closure

  • Partners with Sales Operations and Sales Systems teams to facilitate process and system improvements

  • Provide weekly reporting to DCS Executives on deal governance demand and activity

  • Capture end-to-end solution / service design and P&L for every deal that enters the Deal Assurance gatepost

  • Record and maintain a log of bespoke solution / services and who has signed-off from DCS stakeholders before contract signature. Alert DCS stakeholders once the deal is won.

  • Create win/loss analysis and provide regular updates / reporting to DCS Team on common trends.

  • Oversees the revenue assurance process

Knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Go-To-Market teams and other cross functional departments

  • Good understanding of revenue recognition rules

  • Highly organized, customer-focused, innovative and strong attention to details

  • Excellent communicator, self-aware, transparent, professional, and open to feedback

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize at times of high volume, schedule flexibility during End of Month, End or Quarter

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage distractions

  • Strong quantitative skills and highly proficient in sales tools and software

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study

Experience required:

  • Deal Desk, Order Management, Finance Operations, Sales Operations or Pricing experience preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in Direct and Channel Sales model is highly desirable
