Intel Software Development and Sustaining Engineer in Malaysia

Job Description

As software development and sustaining Engineer, you will have Close collaboration with customers, the program manager, product validation, and engineering teams at Intel to deliver network drivers for state-of-the-Art communications platforms. Primary responsibility Assignments include debug, enhancements, modifications, and corrections of existing software. Duties include designing application, and executing testing and debugging routines, and documenting work and results.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Computer/Electrical Engineering with 5+ years or a master's degree with 4+ years of software development/validation experience.

  • Experience designing/developing networking software components for high performance devices such as routers, gateways, firewalls, or base stations.

  • Excellent knowledge of C/C++ programming, especially in developing multi-core or multi-threaded software.

  • Strong Linux development background.

  • Strong networking/protocol concepts.

  • Source control management tools e.g. GIT.

  • Experience with quality assurance tools e.g. Gerrit

  • Experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) process.

  • Experience and knowledge of protocols like IPv4/IPv6, Ethernet, GTPu, IPSec, SSL, OAM, TCP/UDP, MacSec/VLAN/QinQ, etc.

  • Experience in DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit)

  • Experience in optimizing software for performance, scalability, security.

  • Hands-on experiences in debugging software, familiar with debug tools, e.g. GDB.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multisite team.

  • Be willing to travel to customer sites when needed.

  • Self-starter with ability to follow up and close opens.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in 4G/5G radio access network and its related SW stacks.

  • Virtualization technologies and developing in a virtualized environment.

  • Good understanding of Intel Architecture/x86 or ARM multi-core processor.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
