Job description/Purpose

Job purpose is to provide deep technical expertise for maintenance of complex IT solutions at customers located in different European countries with focus on Linux (RedHat and CentOS) and to perform support for multivendor servers hosted on a cloud platform or a physical server.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of the Linux environment including patching

  • Diagnose of customer problems in environments forwarded from technical support teams, resolution via workaround or repair measures using remote technology

  • Interface to product development for problem escalation, root cause analysis and problem resolution verification

  • Support of technical engineers and partners to provide efficient and competent service to reach high customer satisfaction

  • Escalation handling and coordination of technical support and development, participation in standby shifts 24x7

  • Interface for quality issues and product maintenance requirements, tracking of enhancements in support and development

  • Consults in the tender stage as a technical expert in projects

  • Takes ownership and provides expertise to resolve technical problems for IT systems or Linux infrastructure solutions

  • Promotes and drives knowledge sharing

Required skills:

  • Good knowledge of Linux server system administration, management and tools (Red Hat and CentOS)

  • Knowledge nice to have: Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, OVM, understanding of ITSM tools, ITIL knowledge

  • Self-motivated, team player with great communication skills and business understanding

  • Verbal and Written English including Technical Vocabulary
