The opportunity

The incumbent is a key member of the Compliance team and will be required to contribute to achieving the Company and Compliance’s strategic plans and annual business plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and track the company's regulatory engagement strategy

  • Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and the compliance leadership team to engage and liaise with regulators, law enforcement agencies, authorities and industry bodies

  • Actively manage regulatory queries, responses and deadlines by working closely with all relevant stakeholders to provide quality and timely responses

  • Drive the conduct and culture agenda of the company from a compliance perspective through timely identification and implementation of conduct and culture initiatives to improve the company workforce’s awareness of sound conduct and culture behaviour based on the company’s value and regulatory outcomes

  • Ensure that the company’s fit and proper, outside business activities, misconduct reporting, consequence management frameworks are sound, robust and effectively implemented

  • Provide oversight of the Compliance Investigations team to ensure that investigations are conducted in a timely, fair and comprehensive manner

  • Facilitate the Disciplinary Committee meetings with appropriate and timely materials and recommendations, as well as effective execution of decisions made by the committee

  • Track and where needed, design and implement compliance metrics/key risk indicators to support oversight of compliance implementation within the company

  • Prepare and execute an annual compliance work plan

  • Ensure quality inputs to Compliance Reports

  • Lead and/or contribute to Compliance projects and other business initiatives as required

  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer on ad-hoc compliance matters as required

What we are looking for

  • A senior compliance practitioner with more than 15 years of relevant experience based on the role description

  • Prior experience with the Singapore regulator or law enforcement agency or similar role in another financial institution would be preferred

  • Ability to lead and guide a sizeable team of varying experience level

  • An individual who is passionate about compliance, willing to go the extra mile and believes in doing the right thing and doing things right

  • A motivated team player with a strong sense of responsibility

  • An effective communicator (verbally and in writing) with a “can-do” spirit and strong interpersonal skills
