Purpose of the Role

IRCD SRO provides a full spectrum of services ranging from research/ analysis on industries to proposal of strategic solutions. The individual will be responsible for conducting research on specific industries, as well as providing industry views, knowledge and insight for both internal stakeholders and external clients. The individual will also be responsible in discussing their business strategies and potential needs with external clients based on the industry knowledge, to support business lines for creation of business opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strongly support business lines by providing industry research, views, knowledge and insight for both internal stakeholders and external clients, and discussing their business strategies and potential needs with external clients based on the industry knowledge.

  • Perform in-depth analysis of GX (Green Transformation) / energy sector in APAC region.

  • Derive clients’ business challenges and the direction of required actions to take for value-added discussions with clients, based on the appropriate analysis and understanding of the latest industry trends, the business environment surrounding clients, and the medium-to long-term foresight.

  • Closely collaborate with IRCD Tokyo’s Energy team as well as overseas colleagues in charge to promote global sector activities as one team.

  • Closely collaborate with JCBD Asia SBD (Japanese Corporate Banking Division Asia, Strategic Business Development) to make more effective and quality proposals.

  • Closely collaborate with JCIBPD (Japanese Corporate & Investment Banking Business Planning Division) to contribute to strategic initiatives of JCIB global business.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.

  • Work in partnership with relevant colleagues in the region to collect and share industry information, views, knowledge and insight.

  • Work in partnership with various external parties and information providers including, but not limited to, consultancies, credit rating agencies, government agencies and companies and customers, to collect information and/or conduct interviews to support in developing robust outcomes.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of industry research experience in the banking industry.

  • At least 3 years of experience working in GX (Green Transformation) or energy industry

  • Minimum JLPT N1 Certification, a degree from a Japanese university or equivalent required to effectively communicate daily with Tokyo HQ including, but not limited to, IRCD Tokyo, JCIBPD and Sustainable Business Division on industry knowledge and strategic solutions

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret large and complex data sets and ability to identify implications of data sets.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to influence others using complex data or analysis to support line of reasoning.

  • Be able to create high-quality and easy-to-understand presentation materials (ability to design).

  • Considerable expertise, knowledge and views on a sector in charge.

  • Good knowledge of industries and economic environment in the region.

  • High capability of using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Understanding of functions/departments/divisions in/out of MUFG to effectively collaborate with each other and add value for the business promotion.
