GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position provides application developer expertise for the development of agency projects. This position will support development efforts in code development, project management, documentation, and testing. This position supports the efforts and initiatives of the agency. This position has a substantial role in supporting the technical operations of all DFS applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

  • Application Development to include: Assist in the Development, Maintenance, and production support of DFS applications. Accomplish full system life cycle taskings including analysis, design, coding, technical testing, and documentation for the modification of DFS applications. Accomplish coordinated implementation of approved changes in DFS systems. Clearly communicate design requirements to

both technical and non-technical personnel. Follow established procedures and adhere to established standards.

  • Foster collaboration with other team members and with members of other ETS teams. Gain experience with and accomplish available training on programming technologies. With the goal of providing a blended DFS programming team,

develop a working knowledge and practical experience in the team’s other DFS applications.

  • Work with the user community to assist in establishing clear and concise user requirements for taskings. Assist users with developing, maintaining, and meeting

adhoc and federal reporting requirements.

  • Accomplish required documentation for change control, system functionality, metrics, time-keeping, and any additional areas that are specified by the agency.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference may be given to those with experience in .Net Development

Preference may be given to those with experience in MSSQL

Preference may be given to those with experience in Scrum

Preference may be given to those with experience in Salesforce Development

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of the principles behind and experience developing complex business applications such as programming, computer hardware and software, mathematics, and their applications.

  • Knowledge of employing information technology to meet business requirements.

  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

  • Knowledge of application integration techniques.

  • Knowledge of traditional and Agile software development methodologies.

  • Principles of customer service, process improvement, and performance management.

  • Design logical reports and input forms Graphic User Interface design concepts.

  • Knowledge of relational database design.

  • Carry out directives of superiors Work in a collaborative team environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (typically in Computer Technology)

Experience:

0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Computer Technology) with acquired knowledge at the level of Software Development I

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Computer Technology) with acquired knowledge at the level of Software Development I

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to work on weekends on a rotating basis to support ETS maintenance during routine maintenance windows.

  • Minimal travel may be required.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • The successful candidate must pass a background check

  • FLSA: Non-exempt
