Job Purpose

The HSE Program Manager will lead continuous improvement and further development of EHS programs and policies. The EHS Program Manager should possess passion for innovation, including utilization of IT tools and predictive analytics. In addition, the EHS Program Manager will be responsible for benchmarking leading edge industry best practices in order to advise in the development of long-term EHS strategies.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders Pattern-wide to create, implement, and manage a Pattern Construction/Operations HSE Management System that will be compliant with an appropriate International Standard (ISO).

  • Manage and assure HSE Management System policy reviews and updates as are current and compliant with both Pattern expectations and regulatory requirements for those North American markets where Pattern operates.

  • Partner with stakeholders Pattern-wide to create, implement, and manage a Management of Change process to assure program changes are being properly adopted.

  • Create new programs, and garner buy-in and support for these programs while assuring stakeholder compliance.

  • Design and implement an EHS Management System with little oversight.

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

Minimum of 3-5 years developing and implementing EHS programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in HSE or related field.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, analytical thinking

  • Knowledge of State (US) and Provincial (Canada) Health & Safety legislation

  • Experience building management standards, including management of change, and reporting

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to resolve conflicts, Problem solving skills

  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills

Additional Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience developing a management system to meet an International Standard.

  • Fluent in aspects of HSE such as administrating relevant platforms, US and Canadian regulation, behaviour-based safety programs, etc.

  • Experience delivering sophisticated HSE programs in very large organizations.

  • This employee will have to be able to collaborate professionally with stakeholders in the field, Legal, HR, Risk, etc and be able to make experienced-based decisions in their journey to deliver objectives.

Technical Skills

  • CSP/CRSP or equivelent is preferred.
