General Motors Media Technology Assistant Manager in United States

Job Description

This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of [Warren, MI, Austin, TX, or Mountain View, CA facilities], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

Overview

The Assistant Manager, Media Tech Strategy will manage the ongoing analysis, selection, and implementation of all technology required to activate paid media. This person will identify and scale solutions to facilitate GM paid media activation and enable growth for brands and markets globally. This person will also build a strategy for technology platforms required within and across all paid media channels (including, but not limited to video and display ad serving, programmatic, paid search, paid social, media bill/pay systems, media workflow tools, and media research tools). The ideal candidate will have a foundation in paid media/marketing, including data, research, planning, and digital media.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategy for building out paid media tech to facilitate in-house media buying and planning across GM vehicle brands and corporate brands in the US and globally

  • Build well-defined process for working within tech platforms and establish guidelines for how internal tools integrate with other internal and external platforms and tools

  • Main point of contact for media technology platforms including regular meetings, business needs updates, and guidelines for contact with GM organizations and stakeholders

  • Conduct ongoing reviews and analysis of the media technology landscape and maintain best-in-class partnerships

  • Build recommendations and finalize selection of tech platforms

  • Assist with implementation and rollout of tech platforms including extensive training for GM in-house team

  • Provide and/or facilitate media tech platform capabilities updates for GM in-house team, vehicle brand teams, other GM stakeholders, and agency partners that are involved in paid media

  • Continuously troubleshoot and work with tech platforms to solve user issues or needs that arise

  • Business stakeholder working with GM Purchasing, GM Legal, and GM Privacy to negotiate tech platform contracts

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate any export of data required for integration with other data sources, overarching media analysis, or reporting tools

  • Desire to remain current in the media space through ongoing education and skill development

  • Strong presentation skills, including written and oral communications

  • Positive attitude in the face of complex / unpredictable situations

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, technology or closely related areas

  • 5 years of experience in paid media; agency and/or automotive experience in either area preferred

  • Experience with media tech platforms such as Mediaocean, Google Marketing Platform, Innovid, Comscore, or equivalent platforms

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is ($104,000-$166,300). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
