CAE’s New Markets Group provides innovative training, engineering, and operational solutions for private and public entities worldwide. We exist to help train the next generation of pilots, maintainers, operators and air traffic service providers. We are looking for a dynamic, organized, strategic self-starter who is a team player to have a pivotal role in providing new technology and training solutions to our customers within new markets that are not necessarily core to CAE’s traditional business. The New Markets Business Development Manager will play a critical role in executing CAE’s go-to-market strategy, including prospecting, pitching, structuring partnerships, drafting contracts, negotiating, building business cases, bid books, and briefing leadership, while always performing superb stakeholder management. This is a customer facing role, where the New Markets Business Development Manager acts as one of CAE’s faces to the industry, presenting to customer executives and representing the group at conferences and trade shows.

What you will do:

  • Monitor market trends including preparing overviews of prospective customers, briefings on competitive landscape, and evaluating market size

  • Define the vision, growth, and advancement to CAE’s New Markets Group, often workshopping with cross-functional teams on the future delivery of training services, resourcing, and simulation for the next generation within aviation

  • Identify new prospective customers/partners and build out targeted value propositions

  • Grow, structure, and help negotiate partnerships with OEMs, operators, and other aviation ecosystem stakeholders

  • Draft contracts and documents, including partnership agreements, licenses, and commercial proposals

  • Manage relationships with external partners and customers, identifying new collaboration opportunities to enable further synergies to enhance the overall ecosystem value to grow CAE’s business

  • Effectively communicate positions and visions to senior executives, both internal & external

  • Help provide simultaneous management of multiple high-paced customer projects

    We are looking for people who are:

  • Effective in deriving value for the organization by transforming strategic objectives into concrete opportunities and driving initiatives from planning to closing

  • Able to work with minimal supervision on business development initiatives involving stakeholder engagement across the organization and the globe

  • Comfortable in a fast pace, non-traditional environment

  • Able to prioritize and balance multiple strategic projects with business expertise

  • Customer-facing, engaging, and a story-teller

  • Eager to learn something new every day, and share their expertise with others

    The successful candidate shall have:

  • An excellent command of English (oral and written), minimum of five years' experience in sales, business development, management consulting, and/or contracting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills

  • Track record of building and leading successful sales development or customer success teams responsible for the entire customer journey

  • Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office, mainly Word, and functional skills in the use of PowerPoint and Excel

  • The ability to travel 35%
