The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in association with the UNC Department of Family Medicine, is developing a new maternal/child health service at Chatham Hospital in Siler City, North Carolina. This service will include deliveries and surgical OB-GYN care in a 25-bed critical access hospital, with a new 3-bed Labor and Delivery unit and a 10-bed emergency department. The OB-GYN Attending being recruited for this service will hold a non-tenure track faculty position in the UNC Department of OB-GYN; and will work at UNC Hospitals (30% time), at Chatham Hospital (50% time) and with Piedmont Health Services in Carrboro, as an outpatient OB-GYN consultant (10% time). The remaining 10% time will be for administrative and academic endeavors. This position is part of a new UNC Healthcare initiative to reinvigorate rural maternity care, and will begin in July of 2020.
Education and Experience:
Board Eligibility or Board Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology is required. Those with 3-5 years of experience will be given special consideration, although new graduates are encouraged to apply.
