Role and Responsibilities
Summary
CAE USA is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work with high fidelity real-time immersive training systems for multi-domain military platforms. This position will work with the Research & Development Engineering team to develop, integrate, test, and demonstrate cutting edge technologies supporting our digital training and next-generation situational awareness solutions in support of our military customers.
This position is based in Dothan, AL and will collaborate closely with engineering teams based in Florida (Tampa and Orlando) and Texas (Arlington). A significant part of this role will be to deploy, demonstrate, and maintain CAE’s latest training technologies at our Training Center in Dothan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support the development, deployment, and sustainment of technology demonstrators
Present and conduct technology demonstrations to leadership and potential customers
Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test.
Must be self-motivated and expected to work independently with minimal supervision
Report status on tasks and assignments
Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C#, Java, Python) on Windows, Linux, and mobile platforms and apply these technologies to the AR, VR, gaming, and mobile computing domains.
Setup computer systems (include hardware and software installation and troubleshooting)
Develop software/hardware interfaces
Integrate and test VR/AR/MR hardware (VARJO, HoloLens, etc)
Perform as part of an Agile (SAFe) team (scrums, planning, retrospectives)
Qualifications and Education Requirements
B S degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or related engineering field with relevant experience
5 years of experience in an engineering or software development role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical math skills necessary to complete the required tasks.
Experience writing C++, C#, Java, or JavaScript
Experience with Angular JS, Node, Ext.js
Experience using a source code repository such as Git
Experience using a defect management system such as Jira
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience with real-time implementation of software and hardware integration
Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
SAFe 5 Certification
Experience with gaming technologies such as Unity 3D, Unreal Engine
Experience with control loading systems for vehicle dynamics real-time simulation (Brunner, Bugeye, etc)
Experience with Presagis Products such as Terra Vista or Creator
Experience writing C++, C#, Java, or JavaScript
Experience with Angular JS, Node, Ext.js
Experience writing Ruby on Rails
Experience writing Python Scripts
Experience using OpenGL or WebGL
Experience working with service-based architectures
Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
IAT Level 2 Certification (e.g. Security +)
Experience with GDAL, GeoServer, OpenLayers or ESRI APIs
Experience with OGC Standards such as WMS, WFS, WPS, WCS, GeoPackage, 3D Tiles, IS3, or CDB
Experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, XML, XSLT, and JSON
Experience with Agile (SAFe) development methodologies
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
