The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

Provide aviation support services to the U.S. Department of State, DoS, and Bureau of Diplomatic Security, DS, under the oversight of the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Office of Aviation, INLA. The Terminal Operations Supervisor oversees all terminal operations in support of passenger processing to ensure the safe and efficient movement of personnel, baggage and cargo in support Embassy Air flights. Ensures all personnel act in a professional and courteous manner while interfacing with passengers to ensure their safety and security during their travel. Monitors flight schedules, communicating vital information to leadership, monitoring weather conditions, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, maintaining accurate records, identifying areas for improvement, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational performance and sustainment of passenger terminal operations in support of U.S. Embassy and or Chief of Mission, COM.

  • Oversee passenger check-in procedures, manifesting, weight data entry, edit manifests as required, and ensures appropriate charge codes using FLY-EA-Skyline software.

  • Develop and maintain work schedules to include rotational schedules to ensure the required personnel are present and meet boots-on-ground, BOG, requirements.

  • Conducts performance counseling and writes performance evaluations.

  • Ensure all passengers, baggage and cargo complete the required security and screening checks during check-in, and that they are cleared prior to manifesting and boarding.

  • Monitor and adjust flight schedules as required by weather, technical issues, or other operational considerations.

  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with emergency response procedures.

  • Ensure exceptional customer service and a positive passenger experience.

  • Ensure that the flight adheres to its planned schedule, and when necessary, make the appropriate adjustments and notifications when deviations from the schedule are required.

  • Assist in the resolution of issues that may impact the mission to include scheduling changes, passenger movement, or cargo and baggage restrictions.

  • Maintain timely and effective communication with flight crews, passengers, and management.

  • Assist in arranging transportation, accommodation, and other logistics as required for passengers.

  • Ensure cargo staged and onloaded to aircraft as required.

  • Ensure passenger safety within the airport working area and when in close proximity of aircraft, vehicles, and ground support equipment.

  • Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy baggage, working in various weather conditions, and standing and walking for extended periods.

  • Deploy and operate under austere conditions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, military or related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Other related operations experience may be considered and or substituted.

  • 7 years of experience in an Air Operations Center, Direct Air Support Center, Base Operations, Command Post or commercial customer service experience in airline booking, scheduling or operational position required.

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.

  • Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. security clearance.

  • Ability to pass physical screening.

  • Passport with 18 months remaining.
