Post Holdings, Inc., recently announced an agreement to acquire Perfection Pet Foods, a leading manufacturer of private label and co-manufactured pet food and baked treats. The transaction is anticipated to close by the end of the calendar year in 2023. This role is part of the Perfection Pet Foods team of 250+ employees who will soon join the Post family to help grow the pet food business. Location Description Visalia, CA is home to 360,000 square feet of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, and office space. Approximately 250 employees work here, utilizing the latest technologies and systems, capable of producing extensive, diverse, and innovative pet food products. Visalia is in California’s San Joaquin Valley and the gateway to Sequoia National Park, part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It also has a minor league baseball team, the Visalia California Oaks, and several colleges and universities. Responsibilities This is a mid-level position responsible for supplying raw ingredients to the Batching Department. The order puller will be coordinating with the inventory and batching teams to provide inventory needs to batching operators so that ingredient formulas are batched for the Extrusion Department. Strict compliance with the facility Food Safety and Quality Management System Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions is required. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Complete records/quality checks with accuracy and attention to detail. Complete Pre-Use Inspect Checks in the RedZone App using an iPad. Complete Pre-Operations Checklists in the RedZone App using an iPad. Use I-Track Software to maintain accurate inventory. Use scanning equipment to ensure accurate tracking of inventory within the facility. Communicate with other departments within the RedZone using an iPad. Maintain quality inventory levels based on the Weekly Production Schedule. The Weekly Production Schedule is constantly changing so attention to daily schedule changes is important to prevent Production from shutting down. Must be able to perform inventory counts. Inspect and assess quality to ensure standards are met for all product received into the Batching Warehouse. Maintain work area(s) in an organized and clean manner ensuring safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Maintain preventative maintenance documentation. Work as a team with other forklift operators to prevent line stoppages and improve operations. Interact with production, warehouse, quality control, shuttle drivers and maintenance personnel to maximize output and efficiency. Perform manual labor. Cross-train to perform other lift and off lift activities as required. Report any food safety issues, plant security breaches, attempts at product tampering or contamination, and/or other suspicious behavior observed to the manager/supervisor. Complete and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Routine List (DRL), HACCP procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Compliance. Maintain a food-safe sanitary environment at all times. Escalate any non-conforming product/equipment/material to the appropriate manager/supervisor immediately. Follow Company’s quality assurance procedures and protocols at all times while on duty (eg. Labeling of Containers, Inventory Control, PM Programs). Must be able to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to move raw materials, packaging items, and/or finished products. Must maintain energy source for assigned forklift(s). Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis as necessary. Provide back-up support for other roles and other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor. Qualifications Qualifications and Competencies: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability necessary to perform this job successfully: Education/Experience: A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of warehouse experience (e.g. inventory, shipping and receiving of goods). Minimum two (2) years of forklift experience with a solid safety record; experience in a fast-paced forklift environment preferred. Exposure to manufacturing desired; experience in the food or beverage industry with knowledge of GMPs preferred. Experience using hand pallet jack and electric pallet jack. Experience packaging, loading, and off-loading goods. Skills: Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently and as a team. Have demonstrated good work ethic. Good communication skills. Basic Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis in Excel. Intermediate Computing and Applications skills.

Physical Requirements: Continuously stand/walk/bend/kneel/repetitive lifting throughout shift. Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds. Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to and including 60 pounds. Regularly climb ladders and occasionally work and heights of 100 feet. Environment: Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts/machinery. Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust. Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels. Regularly exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process. Note: Valid Driver’s License required for insurance purposes.
