Role: Apprentice Chiller Engineer

Carrier Rentals is currently recruiting for an Apprentice Chiller Engineer based in the Birmingham area .

Carrier Rental Systems (part of the global Carrier Corporation) operate throughout the UK and across the rest of the world, providing a range of market leading, specialist temperature control rental products to a variety of clients and industries.

What will you be doing?

• Working on Water Chillers and Heat Pumps

• Working on fans and air handling equipment

• Working on indirect fired heaters

• Supporting installations, deinstallations and attending breakdowns in the field with experienced field engineers

• Completing pre-delivery inspection (PDI) procedures prior to hire and learning to carry out all safety and electrical tests.

• Working alongside an experienced engineer who will be your coach & mentor

• General workshop & yard duties (ensuring depot standards are maintained to highest levels)

• Much higher salary than the minimum wage for Apprentices

• Year 1, £16,000 per annum

What we’re looking for:

• Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English, Maths, and ICT OR Engineering

• Ideally have a driving licence, if not you will need to have one by the end of the year 2

• Someone who is keen to learn, ask questions and wants to be involved – bright and inquisitive with a hunger for learning

• Good written English

• A keen interest in the HVAC Engineering industry

• Good problem solver

• Confident and articulate
