About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Combat Service and Combat Services Support Readiness and Sustainment (R&S) Directorate. Responsibilities Develop logistic plans to assure integration of various logistic functions in support of assigned vehicles/projects Serve as a staff logistics specialist with responsibility for the coordination and direction of logistics activities for vehicles under project/product management. Determine the effect of directives and orders of higher echelons on the logistic support plan and takes positive action to effect changes and minimize adverse impact. Serve as the principal point of contact for all logistics support activities for assigned vehicle systems. Maintain continuous liaison with concerned personnel to fully coordinate pertinent information relative to assigned programs Furnishes technical advice on the adequacy and/or feasibility of recommendations and approve changes for resolution of problems. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing logistics documents in support of a program's life cycle which may include comprehensive logistics plans, operational schedules, or contractual requirements; 2) analyzing system maintenance strategies to ensure maximum equipment readiness and reliability; and 3) interpreting or applying logistics regulations ensuring program adherence to Military Standards. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance Planning and Management Oral Communication Product Support Management Supply Support Support Equipment Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Logistics Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a secret security clearance is a condition of employment. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 5 years by a current permanent Army Employee. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years. However, return rights may be impacted.
