Position Summary

The People Services Business Partner is responsible for being a strategic thought partner to an assigned Bristol-Myers Squibb region of countries (EMEA, APAC, Americas), and will have an interlacing accountability to partner at the global level of a core business function (Commercial, R&D, GPS, etc.). You will be part of a team that will establish the relationship between the BMS’ HR People Services and our Customer Colleagues, driving mutual understanding of the service delivery model and how it meets the needs of the customer by communicating in a manner that our customers understand. You are accountable to make cross-team connections and ensure People Services is partnered and present in moments that matter. You will work with aligned business leaders to drive People Services strategies that help achieve business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business both strategically and operationally to establish and implement short-term and long-term People Services strategies that drive business results.

  • Make the connection! Translate business strategy to PS operational needs.

  • Communicate PS strategies in a clear, concise, and thoughtful way to inspire confidence and alignment with the company vision.

  • Build trust. Drive business engagement strategies that will cultivate sustained momentum and support our goal of being a trusted people services delivery partner.

  • Partner with People Services, Centers of Expertise, and HR Business Partner peers to ensure aligned and consistent messaging to our business customers.

  • Continuously monitor service delivery performance to your assigned customer regions and functions and take action when service expectations are not met.

  • Anticipate the needs of your assigned business and mobilize teams to mitigate risks to service by influencing other leaders and supporting impact-driven prioritization.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration - identifying interdepartmental connections and understanding the effects of specific actions on other HR areas or Enabling Functions partners.

  • Promote, champion, foster and embed a best practice approach to PS

  • Act as an advocate and influencer of change in support of positive organizational development and PS employee engagement.

  • Advise, recommend, and evaluate People Services related metrics to determine overall effectiveness and/or gaps with business initiatives or practices.

  • Receive escalated needs from business and action

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fluent French and English communicator

  • Advanced degree in Human Resources or equivalent

  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of HR management

  • Strong and effective communicator, with the ability to engage stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship building skills, achieving positive shared outcomes and feedback.

  • A flexible, pragmatic, and creative approach, redefining problems in light of information gathered or changes in context.

  • Evidence of effectively working with uncertainty and ambiguity and comfortable working at pace.

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Highly focused capacity for execution with a compelling sense of urgency for key priorities

  • Quickness; able to quickly grasp and understand business strategies

  • An individual with an entrepreneurial mindset, sets high standards and fosters a sense of collaboration, pride, and fun

  • Advanced knowledge of people services programs, theory and practices including experience in shared services management, employee life cycle data management, total rewards, and payroll.

  • Demonstrable ability to integrate services and programs across multiple functions to deliver improved business results.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively influence and communicate at all levels of the organization and lead multiple stakeholder relationships.

  • Results oriented, dynamic, flexible and can easily link people services strategies to business solution.
