HarmonyTech Data Engineer (Cloud) in Washington, District Of Columbia
HarmonyTech, Inc., is seeking a Data Engineer (Cloud) for a high visibility IT transformation engagement having multi-cloud and hybrid on-prem implementation environments. It's an exciting and potentially career enhancing opportunity to lead the data architecture, data management, and data pipeline design and development for a mission critical enterprise solution. The scope of this position is to possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments that require originality and innovation to accomplish tasks.
This position requires Public Trust Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
Required Skills
Experience in designing data architecture for cloud platform with sources and consumers on the cloud and on-prem
Experience with implementing data management solution on the cloud (e.g., AWS, Snowflake)
Experience with designing and implementing Data Lake and Data Warehouse environment that support consumptions by applications, analytics, AI/ML and BI solutions, and self-service users.
Experience with designing ETL/ETL data pipelines on cloud (e.g., AWS) with sources and consumers on-cloud and on-prem, using APIs and/or other ETL services (e.g., AWS Glue)
Ability to co-ordinate/collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, translate business requirements into technical requirements and outline high-level integrated design(s) to meet reporting and analytics goals
Experience with designing data models for transactional data stores and/or analytics data stores highly preferred
Preferred
Cloud certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Solution Architect)
Experience creating and implementing data pipelines, ETL jobs, and database schemas for large scale IT solutions
Experience implementing appropriate security controls and data use and access policies
Experience supporting the data migration and integration from existing legacy applications
Experience implementing data integration with on-prem and external systems; and managing the data dictionary and metadata
Experience with AWS services such as DMS, Glue, Aurora MySQL, RedShift, Elastic search, Cloud Watch, Glue Data Catalog, S3, Lambda, required
Education
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or a directly related field
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
