Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Lab Technician to support Kadiak and our government customer in the DC Metro area.

The Lab Technician will need to possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree including the techniques listed OR two (2) years with an associate degree of related laboratory experience including the following techniques:
  1. Thermal gravimetric analysis

  2. Ultra-Violet/Visible/Near infra-red spectroscopy

  3. Titration

  4. Statistical data processing

  5. Lab test reports

  6. Laboratory quality control methods

  • Be able to work with a wide degree of personnel technical levels; develop laboratory test methods; program laboratory equipment as necessary; develop, implement, and complete chemical studies to understand and document the chemical functions and interactions of process tanks; interpret and explain technical information into easily understood wording; provide project status reports; and other such requirements of wastewater pretreatment and/or chemical process plants as needed.

  • Be able to become aware of and familiar with, the safety and environmental requirements, compliance requirements, the relevant technologies and equipment of wastewater pretreatment and/or chemical process plants.

  • Be able to address problems, review, analyze and integrate the technical work of others.

  • Be able to perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.

  • Shall be knowledgeable in how to use Human–Machine Interface (HMI)/ SCADA software which operates the applicable portions of the Plant. This software is run on various computer(s) that are located in the Plant office and in the plants.

  • Shall be fluent in the English language both verbally and written and be able to read and understand English.

  • Shall be U.S. citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

  • Shall be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
