ROLE SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is an entry level position focused on preventative maintenance for our restaurants. This person will primarily focus on HVAC/Refrigeration, Ice Machines, Water Heaters, Cooking Equipment and Water Filtration Systems. As with all members of the Nando's family, the Maintenace Technician may be expected to wear multiple hats, seek out opportunities to make Nando's and themselves better every day, and in general, be a good team player! The essential functions of this position are mapped out below:
KEY FOCUS AREAS
In addition to following Nando's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting the local Facilities technicians, Facilities Managers by performing the preventative maintenance tasks for the specified mechanical equipment for all restaurants at the market level. Including, but not limited to:
HVAC and rooftop equipment PM's
Ice Maker PM's
Cooking Equipment PM's
Water Filtration System PMs & Filter Changes
Water Heater PM's (tankless/tank style)
Other preventative tasks as needed.
Work with Facilities Managers to create a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all area restaurant facilities inclusive of all of the aforementioned equipment.
Adhere to specific maintenance schedules on an individual restaurant basis to best lower costs related to maintenance related items on aforementioned systems/items.
Educating managers, and other restaurant personnel on how to maintain, troubleshoot simple issues, and place service requests for to the Facilities technician or external providers. Assessing the need for additional training on an individual, as needed basis.
Ensuring managers, crew, and other restaurant staff are correctly and consistently following facility maintenance practices and procedures and reporting any issues to the Facilities Manager
Work with Facilities Manager and Facilities Technician to perform facility maintenance and repair seminars on an individual basis or in a group setting for the operations teams to help educate them in saving time and dollars.
Provide a work order to the restaurant manager and Facility Manager with brief recaps of what was accomplished during their PM visit. Documents to be uploaded into Ecotrak.
Serving as liaison between restaurants and contractors for aforementioned systems/items when warranty issues arise and notifying Facilities Technician and Facilities Manager
Provide detailed reports of systems conditions to Facilities Technician and Facilities Manager to assist with repair vs replacement decisions.
Communicates any contractor deficiencies to Facilities Technician
Following all company guidelines
Completing other duties to advance a particular project or resolve a business issue, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training
Experience in related field or an equivalent in education and experience
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Work Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years facility repair and maintenance experience
Two (2) years formal or informal training in repairing and maintaining facilities.
Restaurant facility repair and maintenance experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Skills
Ability to travel daily within designated markets and occasional out of market travel as required
Strong trade knowledge of minor plumbing, minor electrical, basic HVAC/ refrigeration, and cooking equipment
Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules and plan work to facilitate timely achievement of results.
Ability to effectively clearly, and patiently communicate Facilities processes to the Facilities & Operations teams.
Working knowledge of service maintenance costs and procedures for various building systems
