Actalent Remote 5G Software Engineer in Washington, District Of Columbia

R&D Software Engineer - 5G Wireless Communications

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer, who is knowledgeable of Software Defined Radio (SDR), RF signal processing and implementation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Integrate, validate and implement 5G and NextG wireless communication systems

  2. Work with other team members to design test plans and integrate other vendors’ solutions

  3. Evaluate, improve and enhance various open source software used in a lab environment

  4. Review and test software components for contributing to research and technology development projects, reports, and demonstrations

  5. Contribute to system architecture, design and test documentation

Requirements (Must have skills and experience):

  • B.S. or M.S. in computer science, electrical engineering or closely related field

  • 5+ years of experience developing system level software in C/C++ and Python

  • Highly experienced in software-defined radios or RF Signal Processing

  • Familiar with IoT communication protocols

  • Self-starter, can conduct diverse software and hardware development tasks independently

  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Level Clearance.
