Insight Global Top Secret Linux Engineer in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

This role is responsible for designing, engineering, integrating, re-architecting the entire Linux posture using RHEL7/8 and Ubuntu. Using these skills, the role will perform the following tasks:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Linux systems on a day-to-day basis Ensure system lifecycles are performed (e.g. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS -> 20.04 LTS and so on with OS upgrades)

  • Enterprise Authorization: Integrate Linux Systems (currently, RHEL 7/8 and Ubuntu View Job Posting Details 04:28 PM 11/29/2022 Page 2 of 3 systems) into a primary Windows environment (workstations & servers) where authentication, authorization, and accounting actives are controlled by Active Directory with PKI certificates and Single Sign On Provide administrative access based on group security, applied with least privilege and other permission access management techniques

  • Enterprise Patching: Ensure patches are maintained across a diverse Linux environment (e.g. Ubuntu, RHEL7/8, CentOS, etc.) in a heavily automated manner, where possible

  • Enterprise Provisioning: Configure new Linux systems for customer use and ensuring that initial configurations meet required enterprise baselines & controls (e.g. proper agents installed, proper configs, etc.)

  • Enterprise Baseline & Policy: Ensure that already-provisioned Linux systems are kept in compliance with baseline requirements & ever-changing enterprise policy (e.g. equivalent to Group Policy in the Windows realm for ongoing compliance updates) * Develop an operating system lifecycle plan with integration of DoD STIGs and other recommended security standards

  • Integrate Linux systems with other enterprise tooling (e.g. ACAS, Splunk, SolarWinds, Backup systems, etc.)

  • Monitor all solutions integrated via a centralized alerting system (Solarwinds)

Compensation: $130-170k.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

* Active Top Secret Clearance

* IAT Level 2 Certification (sec+ce, CCNA Security)

* 10+ years of experience within IT, Degree can replace years of experience

* Experience designing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting RHEL 7/8 servers

* Previously integrated a Linux environment into an already existing Windows Infrastructure

* Ability to patch serves across several Linux servers and incorporate an automation aspect when possible

* Experience working on a team but also being the sole engineer responsible for the environment and comfortable doing so

* Active Top Secret and willing to undergo background investigation for a higher clearance null
