Bakken Overview
The Bakken trend is a sequence of liquids-rich sand and shale layers in the Williston Basin, which stretches across western North Dakota and into Canada. The company’s position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 560,000 net acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 178,000 net leasehold acres. The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin.
During 2021, net production averaged 94 MBOED. There were 21 operated wells brought online during 2021, bringing the total to more than 800 operated wells online at year-end.

Description
If you are selected as the Bakken Rotating Equipment Technician, you will be playing a key role to the overall performance of field operations and the company’s success. This role is critical in vendor monitoring and oversight, contract and Master Service Agreement verification, repair requests, design and change recommendations, and Multi-Skill Operator support and training. Compression Technicians are also crucial to the overall field operations performance and company success. They are vital for monitoring and assuring compressor and prime-mover availability and compressor performance.
This is a Safety Sensitive position.
Your responsibilities may include:
Take ownership for mechanical availability and maintenance of assigned compressors and partner with route MSOs to improve compressor operability, horsepower utilization, and equipment reliability
Monitor compressor volume, pressures, and temperatures; use available tools and resources to identify and implement optimization opportunities
Monitoring & setting discharge temperatures and assisting MSOs in hydrate minimization and mitigation best practices
Shoot valves for early detection of valve failures and issuance of repair recommendations to limit downtime
Interface with Engineering and Bakken Operations Center (BOC) for optimization troubleshooting and data gathering requests
Monitor and adjust chemical usage to meet targeted injection volumes
Partnership with MSO to ensure source gas meets compressor performance specifications
Perform required maintenance and ensure needed work orders are submitted and adequately completed
Field verification LOTO on third-party compression related equipment and installation of LOTO on boundary isolation valves (ConocoPhillips owned)
Be fit-for-duty while on-shift
Participate in lease reviews and action item follow-up
Adhere to all company policies and procedures; ensure contract mechanics do as well
Implement stop-work authority to shut down operations deemed detrimental to the health and safety of yourself, co-workers or the environment
Qualifications:
Basic/Required:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Current/Valid driver's license
3 years of direct experience with oil and gas production practices, equipment, and terminology
1 years of experience with gas lift and gas compression
Willing and able to perform/align with following (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions
Work in several different geographic locations every single day
Work both in and out of a company-owned vehicle
Wear appropriate special safety equipment
Climb heights up to 24 feet
Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull
Use hand tools to make minor repairs
Work weekends and be on call
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis
Preferred:
Associate degree/Trade certification or higher in Production Technology, Process Technology, other related technical field or foreign equivalent
Basic level of knowledge in gas dehydration and conditioning
Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
Ability to build accurate and legible reports
Ability to read and understand production and financial reports
Ability to react to visual and aural signals, alarms, and instructions
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
