Your role will be to develop and maintain Medtronic Superficial Venous business with existing and new customers. In line with the Sales Managers guidelines in the defined sales territory you will strive to meet and exceed financial and non-financial targets, in a way that enhances Medtronics reputation in the market. You will also work with customers to develop champions for Medtronics new technology and identify opportunities for future business growth.
You will develop a thorough understanding of the Superficial therapy area and be able to offer strong clinical support, whilst being able to show a high level of commercial awareness.
A Day in the Life
We offer you a position where your responsibilities include;
Selling and account support
Analyse the market place, develop an effective territory/account sales strategy, and present the strategy to management to gain approval for implementation.
Work closely with Market development colleagues:
Ensure opportunities created are converted into Medtronic solutions
Pass on any MD opportunities to the team to assess
Support the local training and education of the teams when new solutions are implemented
Monitor the account to assess any leakage and take corrective actions
Work with the Health Economics team to demonstrate economic value per account
Perform all activities to maximize sales (in line with the sales strategy and Medtronic BCS) from product introduction and presentation t contract negotiation.
Monitor and secure that all accounts receive targeting and coverage according to sales managers guidelines.
Identify and address all key decision makers (clinical, administrative /economic) and key opinion leaders in relevant accounts and deliver updates on them to the sales manager on a regular basis.
Further develop existing accounts by expanding into new therapies and develop entirely new accounts.
Build strong and lasting business relationships with key decision makers and those influential in the purchasing process.
Monitor current tenders and prepare/build tender submission with internal stakeholders
Attend and participate in key professional congresses and events as required.
Assist physicians nurses with procedures when required.
Provide technical support to customers (i.e., physicians, consultants) according to territory guidelines.
Conduct and monitor asset management of consignment and all other stock levels according to guidelines.
In conjunction with other members of the team, plan sales coverage/resources in the most effective and economical manner.
Thoroughly understand and sell the indications and supporting evidence for the Superficial Therapy to Vascular Surgeons.
Have direct sales responsibilities for the defined territory.
Communicate divisional marketing messages to customers as fed through Swiss HQ.
Participate and support clinical procedures until an account is established with therapy on own territory and on occasion be willing to support colleagues in other regions.
Support the execution of the national marketing plan and maximise programmes/tactics generated from SHQ
Work closely with the remote sales representative where required to ensure seamless support for the customers
Train and educate relevant hospital staff on Medtronic products, using Medtronic resources in the most effective way.
Maintain and acquire new product, technology, market, sales tool and process knowledge.
Acquire and develop all necessary professional selling skills, in accordance with sales manager guidelines and Medtronic personal development program.
Internal and administrative
Report all account, market and competitive information and trends and metrics in a comprehensive, complete and timely fashion.
Report immediately and accurately all negative customer or product related events (e.g., customer feedback, product and legal issues and risks etc).
Plan and prepare sales forecasts by account, product and therapy for the territory along with proposed meetings/customer activities and investments.
Carry out all administrative duties and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner, (i.e. boot stock reports, stock movement etc.). Provide minimum, but regular activity report to sales manager.
Attend all required regional, national and international meetings.
Use account planning tool to plan account strategies, tactics and actions in long and short term according to guidelines.
Report all customer activities and ensure updated customer information according to guidelines.
Degree in Engineering, Life-Science, Marketing, Business Administration, Biology or another advanced degree
Thorough selling skills education and knowledge
Thorough knowledge of the decision-making process with customers (economic buyer, reimbursement)
Strong selling experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry with consistent over-plan performance
Nice to Haves
- Knowledge and customer networks in the Vascular business.
