The Director – Aftermarket Sales, Industrial is responsible for leading and directing the long-term

aftermarket strategy regarding service parts sales and programs. He/she will lead the parts’ sales team to achieve

short and long-range strategic objectives through successful planning and execution of sales strategies for the

Industrial and Mobile channels. The position is responsible for the entire range of sales planning & development,

strategic planning, competitive positioning, sales promotion, & sales activities. This role drives market/dealer/end

user input back to the organization to improve positioning with programs, product development, & end user support.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Works with Dealers, Key Accounts and End Users to create customized solutions for parts, services and extended warranties. Drives the market/field/end user input back to the Generac organization to improve positioning with programs, product development and end user support. Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Achieves margin objectives, by providing input on pricing strategy for all products and markets with the goal of achieving margin objectives established. Tracks specific dealer performance, promotional allowances and terms to meet the company’s objectives.

  • Grows sales of existing and new aftermarket solutions with channel partners through key growth initiatives and strengthened account relationships, including penetration into customers’ management and executive levels, and evaluation of aftermarket non-OEM alternatives. Works with channel partners to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets & objectives. Lead the successful implementation strategy deployment in conjunction with respective business group leadership.

  • Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is tracked & systematically improved.

  • Works with Marketing teams to integrate the aftermarket development strategies into overall marketing and branding strategies and activities. Works with Marketing teams to develop and launch regionally specific aftermarket materials/collateral, campaigns and programs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Certification / License

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience supervising sales and/or sales support teams & developing strategic growth plans.

  • Travel as required up to 25%.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Clear understanding and knowledge of the internal processes and systems to support the accounts; proven

  • business planning, budgeting, and P&L skills.

  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial culture.

  • Appropriate negotiation & complex account management skills.

  • Ability to analyze financials and detail oriented.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, & organizational skills.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, initiative and leadership.

  • Working knowledge of ERP (SAP preference) and CRM (SalesForce preference) systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels, lead and motivate cross-

  • functional teams.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Education:

  • MBA preferred

Work Experience:

  • Working knowledge of the dynamics between distribution and the subsequent end-user

  • Proven success in developing and fostering business relationships within distributors, which specific

  • preference to industrial equipment markets
