USUI International Corporation Project Engineer in West Chester, Ohio

DUTIES:

  • Coordinate and perform testing and analysis on products and components in support of product launch, continuous improvement and quality assurance activities.
  • If plant based, support design engineering in development of new products. 
  • Responsible for overall project management for all phases of product launch activities and mass production. Involves interfacing with other company disciplines, customers and suppliers. Including, but not limited to, purchasing of equipment, sample/production delivery schedules, budget management, PPAP, quality and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure all assigned resources (personnel, equipment, etc.) are integrated and dedicated to achieving planned objectives.  Resolves relevant issues and problems as required.
  • Represent Company in outside discussions with customers, suppliers, and technical forums through completion of the project.
  • Design and develop fixtures and equipment for product and component testing and some production support.
  • Perform limited CAD duties to support other departments
  • Report program status on a weekly basis to management
  • Follow company safety and health guidelines and other company policies
  • 4S
  • Minimum travel required (up to 30%).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS (including educational requirements):

  • Four-year, accredited degree in Mechanical/Engineering or Mechanical/Engineering Technology
  • Must be able to read and evaluate mechanical drawings and technical product specifications
  • Must be familiar with basic mechanical tools and their use in fabrication, measurement and assembly
  • Must understand engineering theory and practices
  • Must be familiar with current mechanical design, analysis and verification techniques
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Use of MS Word and Excel
  • Experience with AutoCAD/ Autodesk Inventor software
  • Strong math and mechanical skills
  • Capable of overseeing multiple projects simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of experience in project management with an automotive supplier or OEM
  • Experience in fuel system/fluid transfer
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience with core quality tools: FMEA, Control Plan and Process Flow
  • Japanese language a Plus
  • ISO9001, IATF-16949 or TS-16949 systems knowledge
