Our company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our financial team in Salt Lake City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, tax returns, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, forecasting and budgeting. The successful candidate is someone with a strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logs.

• Follow company’s established accounting processes.

• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.

• Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.

• Prepare documentation for external auditors.

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings.

• Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.

  Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.

• 1-3 years of accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of accounting theory.

• High competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software,

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.

• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Good attention to detail with the ability to spot numerical errors.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
