RSI EnTech Hydrogeologist (Senior-Level) in Westminster, Colorado

We are recruiting a Senior Hydrogeologist who will be a part of the Groundwater and Geochemistry Group (GGG). The GGG is tasked with characterizing and developing compliance strategies for former uranium mills that operated in the 1950s and 1960s throughout the southwest. As part this effort, the Senior Hydrogeologist will develop field characterization programs, undertake groundwater evaluations and perform numerical modeling.

The GGG embraces innovation and cutting-edge methodologies and technologies leading to the GGG becoming industry leaders in 3-D visualization and evaluation, geochemical assessment, and groundwater flow and reactive transport modeling. Staff development is a GGG priority and is accomplished through mentoring and increasingly challenging technical assignments; conference attendance and journal publications are encouraged. In addition to working with the Groundwater and Geochemistry Group, the Senior Hydrogeologist position will have the opportunity to participate in the LM Applied Studies and Technology (AS&T) program. AS&T studies are designed to support the LM mission through improved understanding of processes that affect remedy protectiveness and performance, including evaluation and application of advancements in technology. Ongoing AS&T studies include long-term disposal cell cover performance, plume persistence, enhanced natural attenuation, system operations and analysis at remote sites, data mining and project visualization and educational collaborations. AS&T studies are not limited to the ongoing studies; any study related to LM's mission will be considered for inclusion in the program.

This position is required to travel 10% of the time.

Primary responsibilities and essential functions: -Work with a team of scientists and engineers to solve challenging groundwater problems. -Use innovative hydrogeologic and numerical groundwater flow and reactive transport modeling techniques. -Oversee the hydrogeologic and numerical groundwater flow and reactive transport modeling projects of junior staff -Acquire, organize, and analyze environmental field data -Develop statistical and graphical comparisons of model results and data -Prepare work plans and reports -Present study results to clients, regulators, and stakeholders -Develop project schedules and budgets -Support and mentor junior staff -Complete the work in a timely manner. -Attend various STEM events -Other duties as assigned

Work experience, skills, and capabilities needed: -Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team to solve complex groundwater problems -Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills -Strong quantitative groundwater skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex groundwater problems. -Experience conducting remedial design and characterization evaluations -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of hydrogeological and contaminant transport processes and principles -Demonstrated leadership skills -Ability and commitment to mentor junior staff

Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software proficiency required: -Solid technical foundation in math, physics, and chemistry -Advanced technical knowledge in groundwater, geochemistry, and numerical modeling -Valid driver's license -Microsoft Office

Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal candidate: -Experience with numerical groundwater flow and transport modeling using parameter estimation and iterative ensemble smoother calibration techniques. -Groundwater Vistas, Modflow-USG, MT3DMS and PHT3D-USG -GIS and 3-D Visualization and Analysis -Python and R programming

Required Education and Years of Experience: Master's degree in Ge logy, Hydrology, or Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Groundwater or related field
