Essential Performance & Responsibilities

Repair

  • Perform repair work on motors, blowers, evaporators, condensers, compressors, control panels, heater ejectors, and pallet assemblies.

  • Follow the manufacturer data/repair manual to complete repair work to correct specification.

  • Proficient with the use of screwdrivers, wrenches, calipers, clamps, hammers, wire crimpers, and other common hand tools.

  • Verify tools used are calibrated if needed and in good condition prior to starting the work, replace tools that are not compliant.

  • Proficiently use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauge, pins, torque wrenches, counter sink gauges, and other instruments required.

  • Perform work order repairs in order presented by leadership.

  • Ensures correct work order and clocked time is properly tracked.

  • File accurate and complete documentation when submitting work orders to final inspection.

  • Thorough understanding of Repair Station Manual/Quality Control Manual.

  • Read and interpret all engineering drawings and documents as applicable.

  • Perform tests per the test procedure and record results. If the test fails, troubleshoot the issues and rework as necessary to ensure the product meets requirements, escalate for difficult issues.

  • Troubleshoot quality issues and rework as necessary to ensure the product meets requirements.

  • Perform foreign object detection (FOD) activities to minimize any potential risks.

  • Comply with all safety procedures to ensure proper protective equipment usage.

  • Train others as needed on repair of product.

  • Resolve issues during repair with quality, escalate difficult issues.

Preliminary Teardown Inspection

  • Perform preliminary inspection in the order presented by leadership.

  • Responsible to complete assigned preliminary inspections within 3 business days.

  • Follow inspection criteria as outlined in the repair instruction.

  • Verify customer complaint in work order, by testing unit or observation.

  • Document detailed preliminary inspection findings in work order to include why the unit failed in the form of a root cause.

  • Determine what components are needed to make a complete bill of materials in accordance with the Repair Instruction.

  • Provide estimate of labor needed to complete the repair and record in the work order.

  • Assign location and part status of part in accordance with preliminary work aid.

  • Train others as needed on preliminary inspection of product.

Other Requirements & Responsibilities

Receiving Inspection (Customer Materials)

  • Debulk packaging and dispose of packaging properly.

  • Verify PO, RMA number, Part number, and serial number.

  • Visually inspect unit for shipping damage, note and picture as required.

  • Receive material in ERP system per WA-8.2.1-02.1.

  • Notify management of any document discrepancy.

  • Status work order properly.

Continuous Improvement

  • Work with your direct manager to set and maintain a personal development plan to continue and grow employee skills and abilities.

  • Identify process improvements with the goal of increasing efficiency elevate to leadership.

  • Clean, sweep, remove trash and set workstation to ensure tools are in their proper location and the area is clean for the next job.

  • Identify safety, quality, delivery cost issues and report to management.

  • Identify and participate in the improvement and/or creation of work aids and repair instructions.

  • Share knowledge and mentor peers regarding processes and repair procedures to diversify and reduce single point failures within the department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, technician, repair, or similar role.

  • Ability to pass initial and random FAA Drug/Alcohol screening requirements.

  • Technical fluency in Office products and familiarity with ERP system.

  • Strong knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, including applicable FAA regulations.

  • Strong knowledge regarding airworthiness directives and advisor circulars.

  • Strong knowledge regarding manufacturer’s service letters and bulletins.

  • Proficient math skills to calculate dimensional sizes.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • A & P certification.

  • Experience with ISO or AS9100 processes and procedures.

  • Experience training others.
