Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Job Description
Perform the monthly close process, including review of general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, sales and invoicing processes, accounts payable, and capital asset management.
Lead the preparation of monthly financial statements for review by senior leaders.
Assist with the annual Profit Plan and quarterly financial forecast packages.
Provide program profitability data with in-depth analysis of variances to expected results.
Collaborate with other departments on bid packages, work order management, collections, and program management.
Provide reporting for cash management and planning, and lead the management of the accounts receivable process.
Maintain effective internal controls for financial and inventory transactions.
Participate in high-level meetings, including Operational Reviews, Bid Reviews, and Program Manager Reviews.
Assist with internal financial audits and external customer pricing audits.
Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports as required. Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses.
Oversee month-end balancing and journal entries. Handle and reconcile general ledger data as per company procedures.
Prepare monthly standard reports and assist with tax schedules and returns as necessary.
Complete special projects and support other departments with financial data and special requests.
Offer suggestions for departmental improvements, including cost savings measures and reporting enhancements.
