Job Summary: Responsible for initiating, developing, and strengthening relationships with local (city and county) and state government representatives in all markets, including relevant trade associations (e.g., ABA, KBA etc.). Monitors legislative, regulatory, industry, and community related activities and promotes INTRUST’s interests therein. Analyzes proposed legislative actions to determine any impact on the organization and works with executive management and other business unit partners to develop appropriate responses or actions necessary. Promotes an environment of teamwork within the department and across the bank. Represents INTRUST Bank in all they do in the community and is focused on the development of new business relationships. Must maintain strict standards of confidentiality and perform duties in a manner supporting INTRUST’s Character Qualities.

• Monitors legislative and regulatory activities which may have an impact on the bank and its products and services and promotes INTRUST’s market position relative to those activities.
• As available, participate on boards and/or community organizations that promote the community wellbeing.
• Initiates, develops, and strengthens relationships with government, industry, and civic groups and represents and protects INTRUST’s related interests.
• In partnership with executive management and applicable business unit leadership, develops organizational objectives and/or initiatives relative to local, state and federal government affairs.
• Leads analysis of proposed legislative actions, determines potential impact on the organization, and with executive management and applicable business unit leadership, develops appropriate responses and communications to a variety of audiences.
• Represents INTRUST at legislative, industry, and civic events, to include physical presence, active engagement, and leadership as appropriate, within all markets.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of related business development and/or government relations experience required. Prior banking experience preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in use of Microsoft applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc. Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities. Ability to self-direct, plan, organize, and coordinate work. Ability to work independently and manage oneself and time effectively.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands: Extended period(s) of time may be spent viewing a personal computer, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. The physical demands necessary for this role should be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions: Normal office conditions and travel required.
