Novant Health is hiring for an Emergency Department Inpatient Boarding registered nurse for the day shift for our New Hanover Regional Medical Center location in Wilmington, NC. We’re offering up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus as well as $7,500 relocation.

About the Emergency Department:

We're seeking a registered nurse to join our team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department, a distinguished Level 2 Trauma Center featuring 8 beds. With a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1 to 4, our focus on patient care excellence is matched only by our commitment to teamwork. Our cohesive team of nurses collaborates seamlessly to ensure optimal unit performance. We're looking for a dedicated registered nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment and shares our passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.

  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.

  • 1 Year of ED experience in an acute hospital setting.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and communicates patient care needs for discharge planning in interdisciplinary care conferences and with members of the health care team.

  • Develops and implements an individualized plan of nursing care with the patient and family that will address the patient’s and family’s identified needs and concerns.

  • Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating the plan of care and facilitating patient outcomes.

  • Implements and evaluates the patient’s response to care through assessment and reassessment and updates the plan of care.

  • Provides care based on established standards of practice, policies and protocols.

  • Ensures that patients are admitted, transferred and discharged in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Demonstrates leadership by providing information as a resource nurse, mentor and coach and delegator of nursing care activities.
