We have an outstanding opportunity for a Director, Global Chemical Substances for the Collins Aerospace Enterprise Global Chemical Substances Organization (GCSO). As the GCSO lead, this role is responsible for the successful achievement and execution of Collins Aerospace compliance with global chemical regulations. Additionally, the Director, Global Chemical Substances will be required to focus on long-term strategy development, implementation, and execution as well as short and medium range operation planning for the Collins Aerospace Strategic Business Units regarding restricted and banned substances and compliance and risk mitigation initiates. The GCSO lead is a critical and value-added business partner who regularly engages in cross-functional activities and innovative Global Chemical Substances solutions. This individual will lead a cross functional and matrixed team and geographically dispersed customer base.
The role of director holds the responsibility for leading the Collins Aerospace Global Chemical Substances Organization (GCSO). The Director of the GCSO is responsible for assessing the landscape of emerging regulations, determining the impact to A&D and Collins Aerospace, informing, and educating the Strategic Business Units and functions, & for recommending suggested actions to ensure compliance and/or mitigation of risks. The leader of the GCSO is also responsible for partnering with the Collins Aerospace Sustainability Council & Taskforce and other RTX committees.
The director of the GCSO leads a team of six direct reports, ten indirect Strategic Business Unit Program Managers (PMs), and leads a matrixed team partnering with Enterprise Engineering, Contracts, Environment Health & Safety, Environmental Sustainability, and Supply Chain.
Provide chemical regulatory guidance to leadership and the Strategic Business Units.
Collaborate to decompose regulations, analyze impact to Collins Aerospace, and determine the best approach to manage risk or compliance needs.
Partner with the GCSO and SBU GCS PMs to identify solutions and standardization opportunities across all SBUs and sites.
Support SBU GCS PMs visits to SBU high risk sites and to continue to support the IAEG Board of Director activities.
Identify synergies across various strategies and initiatives across Collins Aerospace and RTX.
Improve the overall quality and capability of the organization by attracting, retaining and growing a capable, dedicated workforce
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and international)
Experience influencing and communicating in a complex, matrixed environment
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or other Business-related degree; third party certifications and certificate programs are an added bonus.
Understanding of chemical regulations and impact to Collins Aerospace and RTX
Understanding of the Collins Aerospace organizational structure and the overall business processes work – from quote to services & support

The salary range for this role is 165,000 USD - 331,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
