Job Description Vice President of Accounting & Finance 212 W 2nd St, Winona, MN 55987 HEADD Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT SUN 7:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Vice President of Accounting & Finance, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives for accounting and finance teams that support Fastenals world-wide locations. The individual selected for this position will demonstrate strong knowledge of distribution system and in-market location management of inventory, costing structures, internal and external financial reporting considerations, design of multiple complex systems, and the ability to enforce controls and culture as well as the desire and skillset required to lead a critical accounting function based in Winona, MN. RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Developing strategic goals that are aligned with company objectives o Understanding business operations and partnering with various leaders to develop solutions to support continued growth and development of the company o Overseeing multiple teams focused on performing a variety of accounting or finance functions in support of our domestic and international business operations o Providing leadership in the design of accounting systems, processes and internal controls o Developing, training, and motivating others in achieving team and individual goals o Performing special projects, analysis and other administrative tasks as necessary REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The skills and qualifications for this position include: o Possess a degree in Accounting, Finance OR related degree or experience o Possess at least 5 years of Accounting or Finance leadership work experience o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Willingness to drive strategy and improve business processes o Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset o Highly motivated and self directed with the ability to motivate others o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Possess a CPA certification oProficient using PeopleSoft and OneStream oWillingness and ability to travel ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
