WestRock Company Lead Logistics Clerk 2nd Shift in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Summary:
The Lead Logistics Clerk position is responsible for assisting the Logistics Department with daily activities including routing freight, label creation and import/export paperwork. They support the Warehouse Team Leader in directing and managing the warehouse functions including shipping, receiving products and materials and inventory control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Assist with the preparation and filing of customs paperwork.
Perform file manipulation and label creation for parcel shipments via FedEx, UPS, and USPS.
Provide daily tracking and timely feedback to customers and sales regarding shipments.
Arrange expedited shipments to and from various facilities/vendors/customers.
Lead and/or participate in special projects as needed.
Assist with managing projects in other facilities including creating load plans, preparing paperwork, and scheduling outbound freight with production capabilities to meet in-store due dates.
Performa all Warehouse Clerk duties as needed.
Provide leadership to warehouse clerks and material handlers.
Act as a liaison between warehouse and other departments, customers and vendors.
Troubleshoot issues and assist Team Leader with resolution.
Lead and direct the department in the Team Leader’s absence and serve as back-up to Lead Clerks as needed.
Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Overtime is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but provides leadership to warehouse clerks and material handlers.
