Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Job Description:
Minimize machine downtime, increase efficiency and reduce cost through planned maintenance and prompt response to unplanned maintenance requests on the production equipment used to produce fiber optic cables.
12 hour night shift from 7pm to 7am.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement corrective actions
Prepare written maintenance instructions, records, and procedures
Maintain accurate and timely records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Maximo • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment
Perform detailed routine maintenance tasks
Perform tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Coordinator
Skills/Characteristics Desired
Self-motivated, strong and systematic analytical and troubleshooting skills
In depth understanding of electrical and mechanical principles
Thorough working knowledge of electrical, mechanical systems
Experience with LOTO and electrical safety
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
Experience in the use of hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and machine shop equipment
Good communication skills • Accuracy, attention to details, and strong organizational skills
Ability to react positively to rapidly changing priorities
Capable of independently managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
Experience with Maximo CMMS system for maintenance
Experience with the OSI PI (historian) interface
Effective in managing multiple priorities
Demonstrated initiative and an eagerness to drive continuous improvement

The range for this position is $32.00 hourly rate - $35.63 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
