Education / Training:
• 2 year technical degree or equivalent manufacturing experience (4 year degree desired).

Complete Part & Process SPAP/PPAP
Create and maintain Routings / BOMS
Process Engineering Changes
Create/Maintain SFMEA
Create/Maintain Control Plans / PFMEA
LN system use & training to users
Validate/support all quality gate audits
Lead safety investigations and perform 1Page DMAIC
process
- Determine processing needs to assure fixtures,
tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules
and production requirements.
- Works to improve processes, timeliness and reduce
costs by eliminating non-value added activities.
- Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S,
Lean Manufacturing, Internal Certification, etc.
- Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor;
eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe
and clean production environment.
- Evaluate, assess, and identify training needs of the
workforce.
- Ensures training and effective utilization of work
force.
- Drives Root Cause identification. Drives Continuous
Improvement process.
Act as Facility Welding Engineer
Evaluate weld qualification samples per the
applicable standard (AWS D1.1, AWS D15.1, CAT 1E
specs)
Create PQR’s, WPS’s, and WQTR’s
Maintain weld training and qualification records
Troubleshoot technical issues regarding the
equipment, or welder methods and technique
- Develop weld rework or repair procedures as
required
- Approve rework or repairs performed
Qualifications and Experience:
Strong knowledge of PC/data entry
Intermediate level skills of Microsoft Office
(Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Ability to comfortably present to team members and
other area leaders
- Strong interpersonal/communication/prioritization
skills is a must
Strong organizational skills
Working understanding of welding processes and
technology
- Ability to interpret welding symbols and terminology
on fabrication drawings
Working understanding of welding repair methods
Working understanding of weld testing methods
Working understanding of welding documentation
practices
Working Conditions:
Must also be able to perform the following for the
duration of shift:
- Heavy manufacturing environment, subjecting
employees to noise, vibration, and chemical
elements.
- Will be working near moving mechanical parts,
overhead cranes and lift truck traffic.
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to handle,
or feel objects, tools, or controls & reach with hands
and arms.
- Continual use of ladders/platforms/stairs to access
engine and or machines in various stages of
assembly or manufacture
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting objects up to 35 lbs.
Periodically walking short and long distances
Metatarsal safety shoes are required as well as
safety glasses.
