Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and drive multi-functional teams for design improvements, cost reduction opportunities, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and other strategies for operational and supply chain improvements with focus on localization

• Work with sourcing and supplier quality and development teams to identify new potential suppliers to support China localization, in line with global category and SBU sourcing strategies

• Create competitive advantage by benchmarking best practices, leveraging new technology and introducing new materials in local market

• Promote and explore long term co-development with suppliers to support local innovation and deliver cost effectiveness

• Develop strategic supplier relationships in order to drive down product costs through supplier development and design change ideas, partnering with engineering and manufacturing, with a total cost of ownership mindset

• Drive wing-to-wing connected flow together with suppliers, implementing lean manufacturing and introducing advanced manufacturing technology

• Partner with the program team to lead contract/price negotiations with suppliers to meet quality, quantity, cost, lead time and delivery requirements, and to ensure best overall value for the business while also delivering supply chain stability and resilience.

• Support Supplier Quality, ensuring supplier compliance with FDA, EHS, transportation and other

Required Qualifications

• Technical University degree or equivalent knowledge or experience

• Strong program management experience

• Experience identifying and developing new suppliers

• Some sourcing experience preferred

• Experience in both multi-national corporations and startup local Chinese company is preferred

• Experience in lean manufacturing techniques and design for X (manufacturing, service, install, sustainability, etc.)
