Citizens Bank Core Banking Operations Manager I in Yonkers, New York


The Distribution Operations Manager I is responsible for coaching, training and mentoring Retail branch management colleagues to ensure a secure control environment within our branch network. Colleagues in this position are a valued business partner to the traditional and in-store branches and Regional Managers; they are expected to form close partnerships with branch colleagues, Regional Managers, and other business line partners that support the branch network.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Frequent interaction with Regional Managers to discuss observations in the branches and to update Retail on the status of the colleagues and issues being coached; includes telephone conversations or in person meetings at least weekly and the distribution of a weekly regional manager update

  • Daily interaction, coaching and training of branch colleagues

  • Review of tools available to determine potential areas of concern in assigned branches and create and deliver coaching plans accordingly

  • Training of new branch management colleagues within 60-90 days of their appointment

  • Emergency response for robbery or facilities issue as required

  • General operational support contact for assigned branches and regional managers

  • Perform standard and routine assignments independently to conclusion; refer unusual problems which may require exceptions to procedures or processes to supervisor


Required Skills/Experience:

  • 2-5 years of Retail branch operations experience working as either Teller Manager, Banker II or higher; working knowledge of bank policies, procedures and regulations

  • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

  • Strong aptitude for building partnerships through coaching

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High degree of professionalism in attire and actions at all times

  • Ability to successfully identify operational issues and manage time to coach for improvement

  • Ability to travel by personal vehicle; approximately 80% of work week

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 1-2 years of coaching, mentoring or training experience

    Hours & Work Schedule

    Hours per Week: 40

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM; o ccasional weekend and/or extended work hours required.

    Location: work at home/remote considered for days not traveling to branches. Role primarily supports branches in greater NYC area.
